The PSA that was created for Gilda's Club International and sponsored by
Women in Film. Dallas has won a 2004 Gracie Allen Award®. A SPECIAL PLACE
- GILDA'S CLUB PSA has won a Gracie Allen Award® in the National Single
Entry category. In a year with a record-breaking number of entries, this
submission displayed superior quality in writing, production, and
programming. The PSA was sponsored by Women in Film. Dallas and
written/directed by Linda Stogner and produced by Betty Buckley and
June Owens. A Dallas crew and cast, including Donatelle Mascari, the Makeup Maven™,
graciously donated their services.
Meryl Streep provided the voice-over for the PSA.
The spirit of Gilda Radner prevails through this touching and emotional
PSA narrated by Meryl Streep. As Gilda Radner said "no one should have
to face cancer alone." PSA also features a very ill woman who is
fighting her last days with cancer. This PSA was a collaborative
effort between the professional artist in Women in Film/Dallas and
the dedicated staff at Gilda's Club Worldwide. |
